Pointed Tokkuri (Sake Flask)

A sake flask characterized by a silhouette that tapers smoothly from the base to the mouth.

Slightly different from typical rounded flasks, this piece makes an impression with its linear form and slightly pointed mouth.

Finished with a deep Oribe glaze on the top and the raw reddish hue of Izumo clay on the bottom, it allows you to enjoy the distinct expressions of both glaze and earth in a single vessel.

Beyond being a vessel for enjoying sake, this is a flask designed to be appreciated for the aesthetic presence it brings to your dining table.

Anna’s Craftsmanship

Made using Izumo clay.

The top is coated in Oribe glaze for a glossy, deep hue, while the bottom is left unglazed to showcase the inherent reddish color and rustic texture of the Izumo clay.

Its defining features are the silhouette that tapers upward and the subtly modified mouth.

The mouth is not formed as a perfect circle; by creating a slight flow on one side, it achieves both functional pouring and the unique character of handcrafted work.

This flask brings together contrasting elements: glossy Oribe glaze and rustic clay, a sharp silhouette and soft, handcrafted detail.

About Our Handcrafted Vessels

As each piece is handcrafted, there are individual differences in shape, size, the lines of the mouth, and the color or shading of the glaze.

The expression of the Oribe glaze and the boundary where it meets the clay, in particular, will differ from piece to piece. Please enjoy these unique variations as an inherent characteristic of handcrafted work.
