Kai Mug Cup

A shell collected from the coast of Japan has been stamped into the clay, giving a simple and natural design to the mug cup.
White clay from Shigaraki and red clay from Izumo, the rural areas of the country, have been used. The mixture of the two clays has resulted in the beige colour of the material, which can be seen on the foot of the unglazed piece.
The cups have been glazed by hand, so each one is different from the others.
